The agenda for The Conference on Sustainable, Responsible, Impact Investing is designed by a volunteer group of SRI industry professionals. Proposals for speakers and agenda topics are invited through a Request for Proposal process. Working with proposals received, as well as ideas that germinate within the Agenda Committee itself, Committee members establish priorities for timely, stimulating, challenging topics of high importance to a wide cross section of expected conference participants.
First Affirmative Financial Network
Steve Schueth is President of First Affirmative Financial Network, an independent Registered Investment Advisor that provides portfolio management services for socially conscious individuals and mission-driven institutional investors. A nationally recognized authority and resources to the responsible investment industry for nearly 25 years, Steve's background includes a dozen years with First Affirmative, eight years with Calvert Investments, eleven years as a director of US SIF - the Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investing, and three years as Director of Development for the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the board of the nonprofit Alliance for a Sustainable Colorado and the Americans for Non-Smokers Rights Foundation. He received the social investment industry's "SRI Service Award" in 1998, and has produced and hosted The SRI Conference since 1999 (formerly SRI in the Rockies).
Trillium Asset Management
Susan is Vice President and member of Trillium Asset Management’s corporate engagement and shareholder advocacy group. Her advocacy work includes direct communication with company leadership and public policy advocacy on issues including board and workplace diversity, human rights, environmental health and sustainable agriculture. Ms. Baker has over 20 years’ experience in the investment industry. She began her career at Harvard Management Company and later joined Trillium as a portfolio associate and later portfolio manager and research analyst. She left Trillium for six years, rejoining the firm and its advocacy department in 2006.
Rebecca Bar is Senior Associate on the Investor Program at Ceres. She focuses on building sustainable leadership and membership engagement for the Ceres Investor Network on Climate Risk. Ms. Bar also supports ongoing work on carbon asset risk, low carbon/ clean energy investing issues and sustainable agriculture/ forestry. She joined Ceres in 2013 as a Coordinator and has been a member of the Ceres California Team since 2016. Prior to joining Ceres, Ms. Bar worked as the Membership Coordinator at the Environmental Business Council of New England. She is a holder of the CFA Investment Foundations certificate.
Azzad Asset Management
Joshua Brockwell is Communications Director at Azzad Asset Management. He joined the firm in 2013 and is responsible for public relations and strategic marketing campaigns for high net worth clients, registered investment advisers, third-party professionals, institutions, and individual retail clients. Prior to Azzad, he worked with T. Rowe Price and Homestead Funds, a boutique cooperative mutual fund company. Mr. Brockwell is a public speaker and educator, offering seminars across the country on ethical investing. In 2002, he received a Fulbright Fellowship for Dijon, France, where he taught in the fields of marketing and business.

Jan Bryan, CFP®, AIF, owns and operates an independent financial planning firm by the same name. She is an investment advisory representative with First Affirmative Financial Network, LLC, an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. She has specialized in Socially Responsible Investing since 1990 working with individual clients and trusts to integrate investment needs and planning goals with client's values. Ms. Bryan is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) professional. She was elected to the Board of Directors of the Social Investment Forum in 2009. She speaks Spanish and currently works to build community investing in impoverished areas such as Guatemala.
Mackenzie Colgan is Regional Director, Distribution at ImpactAssets. She is responsible for the distribution of ImpactAssets’ impact investment notes and donor-advised fund, and facilitating relationships with investors and advisors across the country. Prior to joining ImpactAssets, Ms. Colgan had experience in emerging markets, the asset management industry and non-profit sector. She served as a Nairobi, Kenya-based Portfolio Associate at the Acumen Fund, sourcing private debt and equity impact investments in the healthcare sector. Prior to that, she was at New York Life/MainStay Investments, and was in development and marketing at the Clinton Climate and Health Access Initiatives.

Colleen Denzler, CFA is the founder of Colleen Denzler Strategy Partners LLC, a company dedicated to strengthening investment performance through actively promoting ethics, responsibility and gender diversity within the financial services industry. Ms. Denzler's experience as a top performing asset manager, most notably having raised over $20 billion in assets, gives her an applied and unique perspective into the inner workings of asset growth. Previously, she was Global Head of Fixed Income Strategy at Janus Capital Group. Her opinions on the markets have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Financial Times, Pension & Investments, and Asset TV.
Eric Fernald is an Executive Director at MSCI ESG Research. He is responsible for MSCI ESG Research's corporate communications and Engagement program. He also is responsible for the research methodologies for MSCI's standard ESG Indices. Mr. Fernald joined MSCI ESG Research in 2010 when MSCI acquired KLD Research & Analytics. He worked at KLD from 1995 through 2009, and was KLD's Research Director from 2004-2009. Prior to joining KLD, he worked for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
Global Network Initiative (GNI)
For nine years through April 2015, Bennett Freeman was Senior Vice President - Sustainability Research and Policy at Calvert Investments where he led the firm's ESG research and analysis as well as its shareholder advocacy and public policy initiatives. He currently serves as Board Secretary of the Global Network Initiative (GNI), a multi-stakeholder initiative promoting greater corporate transparency and accountability around Internet surveillance and censorship. He also is Chair of the Advisory Board of Global Witness, the London-based NGO focused on diminishing corruption and conflict in connection with natural resources. Bennett was previously a Clinton presidential appointee in three positions at the State Department.

Karina Funk, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager and Equity Research Analyst at Brown Advisory, LLC. Ms. Funk joined the firm in 2009 and is responsible for managing the large-cap sustainable growth strategy. Prior to that, she was a Portfolio Manager and Equity Research Analyst at Winslow Management Company, LLC. Previously, Ms. Funk was a Principal at Charles River Ventures, an Investment Manager at Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust, and a Strategy Consultant at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. She has extensive experience as an investment manager, strategy consultant, and engineer along with environmentally oriented investing experience in early-stage ventures, debt, and public equities.

Bob Helmuth is Senior Vice President, Stakeholder Relations, Pax World Management LLC. He is responsible for maintaining and advancing a wide range of relationships with various stakeholder constituencies including financial advisors across the nation who specialize in sustainable investing. Mr. Helmuth is also responsible for the company's presence at events and conferences, and its work with affinity and non-profit organizations. He is a member of Pax World's Corporate Social Responsibility Committee. Prior to joining Pax World in 2001, Mr. Helmuth served in marketing management positions with companies in the cable television industry, including ESPN, Daniels & Associates, Cablevision Industries and more recently the Starz Media Group.

Sonya Hetrick is a Sector Analyst at the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) with a strong background in both traditional investment analysis and ESG analysis. Previously, she worked at Google, Bailard Wealth Management, and KLD Research & Analytics (now MSCI). Ms. Hetrick is the recipient of Amnesty International USA's "Patrick Steward Human Rights Award" for her volunteer work in India and Thailand.
Sustainable Insight Capital Management
Bruce Kahn has over 25 years of experience in environmental and investment research and management. He is a Portfolio Manager at Sustainable Insight Capital Management, and a Lecturer at Columbia University's Earth Institute in the Sustainability Management Program. Previously, Dr. Kahn was a Director in Deutsche Bank's Asset Management division acting as an investment strategist conducting high-level analytical research on sustainable investing including clean tech, water and agricultural-based investment strategies as well as ESG/SRI strategies. Previously, he managed assets at Smith Barney's Private Wealth Management Group in sustainable investments. Dr. Kahn is a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and of a National Science Foundation Fellowship in ecological economics.

Krystala Kalil is the Conference Coordinator of The SRI Conference on Sustainable, Responsible, Impact Investing. She joined the conference production team in 2004. She has an extensive background in conference planning, choosing to work with conferences that reflect her core values. Just prior to The SRI Conference, Ms. Kalil was the Sponsor and Media Liaison for the International Conference on Science and Consciousness, and the International Conference on Business and Consciousness. She has been an educator, psychotherapist, project manager and sculptor.

Ken Locklin is a Director of Impax Asset Management (US) LLC. He leads Impax’s North American activities on issues related to climate change and sustainable investment, and collaborations with interested institutions. During her tenure with both of these non-profit organizations, she was responsible for strategic planning, increasing revenue sources and building strong brand awareness.
Marvin Smith is a Senior Manager of Stakeholder Engagement at Future 500. He supports Future 500’s Energy & Climate program and also works on issues related to chemicals in consumer products, as well as broader sustainability issues. Mr. Smith has worked with NGOs in Europe and the United States addressing issues such as promoting sport as a tool to address social concerns, cancer prevention, and public education. His passion is to engage and align diverse stakeholders in the corporate and activist communities, and between the political left and right, behind systemic solutions to urgent global social and environmental problems.
Katherine St. Onge is a Senior Officer on the Investor Relations team. She is responsible for managing relationships with individual investors, foundations, institutions and financial advisors to increase their understanding of Calvert Foundation’s impact investing product and services. Prior to Calvert Foundation, Katherine worked at the Aspen Institute where she focused on building entrepreneurial and early-stage investment ecosystems in the Middle East and North Africa. She also worked for Louisiana Economic Development, crafting policies and strategies to enhance the state’s economic competitiveness, and Goldman Sachs, managing both equity and fixed-income investment products.

Holly Testa is Director, Shareowner Engagement at First Affirmative Financial Network. She also works with the firm’s advisors and their clients, providing information and assistance on advocacy issues. Ms. Testa has been affiliated with First Affirmative for over 20 years in several capacities, including business development and as an Investment Advisory Representative. She was previously an Investment Advisor at a Boulder, Colorado based independent trust company.Ms. Testa also spent several years in the commercial insurance industry, holding underwriting and management positions at Hartford Insurance.
Shila Wattamwar is Associate Director of Advisory Services at Sustainalytics. In her role she focuses on working with large US & Global client relationships and partnerships in providing ESG advisory and support. Much of her role involves working with clients to help integrate ESG and Corporate Governance research into their investment process by better understanding their strategy and motivations. Prior to joining Sustainalytics, Ms. Wattamwar came from the financial services sector where she focused on providing index and reference data solutions to institutional investors.
SNW Asset Management
Glen Yelton is Vice President and Head of Impact Research at SNW Asset Management. Over the past decade and a half, he has been heavily involved in the ESG/Impact investing industry, spending the last 10 years managing the ESG research program at IW Financial. Previously, he oversaw the development and operation of a registered investment advisor’s research program focusing on ESG data collection. Mr. Yelton has provided competitive intelligence research for a variety of Fortune 100 clients in a wide range of industries including consumer products, automotive and technology. He served as a key participant in the development of several business intelligence and corporate information database-driven software products.
Shane Yonston has served as a financial advisor focusing on SRI for 13 years and is a founding partner at Impact Investors. As a CFP® with a Masters Degree in Financial Planning, the majority of his efforts go towards helping a select group of high net-worth families to achieve their financial goals. In addition, Mr. Yonston passionately directs a team of professionals to improve the overall performance and impact of the firm. Although he commutes often to the Bay Area and has provided financial guidance to investors all over the world, he lives in San Diego, California.
